It was the first of two false starts of the day as ‘Stratn Jack’ suddenly charged off down the course on his own. Notice how far forward the jockeys feet are as he is desperately trying to stop Jack. The first race is always the only hurdle race of the day and is a distance of 2 miles at just over two laps of the track. On the second lap Jack run out at one of the hurdles on the far side of the course, smashed through the barrier and continued to race accross the inside of the track and come in just after the leaders …luckily he wasn’t injured in any way. I think the wind had definitely got up his tail on Sunday although he always is a bit of a handful, he just seems to want to run.
